In the mushroom factory property located in Mietoinen, a municipality in Varsinais-Suomi, shiitake mushrooms have been cultivated for a long time.
Suomi Siitake Oy was founded at the end of 2018, but mushroom cultivation was not a new venture for the company. It was based on over two decades of experience in an industry that demands specialized expertise and skills.
In early 2020, the company took full control of the entire production chain, officially establishing Emperor as the product brand.​

The entire production chain is under their own control from start to finish. This is the only way to achieve the highest possible quality and flavor. Over the years, cultivation methods have been diligently developed, incorporating a great deal of professional knowledge and expertise.
Continuous investments have been made in upgrading production facilities, and currently, Suomi Siitake Oy operates in a modern production area of 3500 m2.

SUSTAINABLE CULTIVATION YIELDS HIGH-QUALITY SHIITAKES
For us, it is of utmost importance to maintain our operations and production chain as environmentally friendly and energy-efficient as possible. We emphasize sustainability in our practices and aim for the top quality in our products.
SUSTAINABILITY
We use wood pellets for heating our production facilities and providing energy for the cultivation process.
We source the raw materials for our growing substrates from nearby organic farms and recycle used substrates as soil conditioners back to these farms. Additionally, our packaging materials are entirely recyclable.
Our production is organic-certified, ensuring a natural and pure Finnish food product.
QUALITY
Our foundation of quality lies in a meticulously planned and closely monitored cultivation process, along with unwavering expertise.
The mushroom substrates consist of top-quality and certified raw materials from local producers, not to mention the high-quality mycelium. Harvesting and sorting stages are carried out with quality as the top priority, and our unique cultivation method ensures the delicious flavor of shiitake mushrooms.
Only the finest quality is collected into our packages and boxes—world's purest and safest Finnish food.

Our products have been certified as organic by an authorised control agency. Our products have fulfilled strict conditions on how they are produced, processed, transported and stored.
GLOBAL G.A.P.
Suomi Siitake Oy has been awarded the internationally recognized series of farm standards, GLOBAL G.A.P., indicating that our products are produced using good agricultural practices.
The certification also guarantees that our shiitake mushrooms are of high quality and that they are produced sustainably, respecting factors such as the environment and the well-being of our employees.

However, this symbol not only signifies domestic origin but is exclusively reserved for top-quality products.
HINKU AWARD
Mushroom cultivation facility's efforts in climate action have been recognized and awarded the HINKU (Climate Friendly Municipalities) award by the Environmental Centre.
